Many of the Consumer Protection Statutes I discussed on tv this morning should be referred to when in Small Claims Court. The most popular statute: The General Business Law, section 349. This law deals with small claims that arise from defective or misrepresented goods and services. Remember, a misleading business practice can be dealt with. You just have to know your rights.
