Today's Verdict, 5/20/22

 

On this week’s Today’s Verdict with David Lesch, I interviewed Deputy Commissioner, Benjamin Holt from the Office of Labor Policy and Standards (OLPS), and discussed phase two of new protection laws that promote better working conditions in the food delivery industry. Next up, Senator Kevin Thomas described new legislation that prohibits colleges from withholding a student’s transcript because of unpaid debts.  Finally, my friend and artist Adam Goldgell talks about his passion for art while giving us a sample of his wonderful work.  Here is the link to the show that aired on tv last Friday:

On this week’s Today’s Verdict with David Lesch, I speak with Christina Brandt-Young from Disability Rights Advocate concerning a settlement agreement, through which the NYS Board of Elections will create a statewide program allowing blind and disabled voters to fill out a remote, accessible vote-by-mail ballot online. Next, Chivona Newsome the co-founder of Black Lives Matter Greater NY talks about the Emmett Till Anti-lynching Act of 2022 and the next steps this organization would like to see the federal government take regarding future legislaton. Lastly, CEO Udai Tambar of The New York Junior Tennis & Learning talks about the organization’s 50th Gala Anniversary as well as how the organization fared during the pandemic.  Here is the link:
