Assemblywoman Karine
Reyes and State Senator Julia Salazar were our first two guests this week.
Our viewers have asked that I have their representatives on our show
during the pandemic. Assemblywoman Reyes discussed the resources
available for our undocumented immigrants as many have concerns during the
pandemic. Many of the undocumented are highly represented in the essential
workforce making them at a higher risk for exposure to COVID-19. Senator
Salazar has introduced a “relief for all” emergency housing bill. It addresses
the economic hardship on New York tenants, homeowners, small businesses and
others caused by the COVID-19 public emergency. Finally, Bernadette Jentsch, an
attorney with “mobilization for justice”, helped us understand the “workplace
justice project” and how unemployment insurance has been impacted during this
crisis.
