Law Series, Letters "X", "Y" and "Z"

“Millions for defense, but not one cent for tribute”  With the three toughest letters of the alphabet left in my Law A-Z series, it was time to wrap up XY and Z.  Luckily, way back in 1778 an important event is our history occurred.  It was called the “XYZ Affair” (I’m sure all of you remember from social studies).  Anyway, the affair declared to the world that the United States does not exchange peace for money.  Certainly those who have loved ones held as hostages would be very happy to exchange money for an immediate release.  But it is illegal to do so, and thus a topic ripe for discussion on this morning’s “Open” tv show.   A new legal series is on the way starting in January.  Meanwhile, here is the link to our last Law A-Z series starring the letters XY and Z:
