A hate crime is also known as a "bias-motivated" crime and occurs when a perpetrator targets a victim because of his or her perceived membership in a certain social group. This morning on the tv show "Open" I discussed the two forms of "hate crime", a topic that will be discussed in greater detail on next week's "Today's Verdict".
