This morning on "Open", I returned to a series that I began a few months ago: Dangers Facing Children and Laws that Protect Them. I'm sure its no surprise that the most common type of danger that faces children are those that also involve motor vehicle collisions. So this morning I gave a rundown of the things a parent should do to make sure their child is safely riding as a passenger (and isn't hit while standing behind the car when the car is in reverse). Bronxites should beware of the dangers associated with "blind spots". Will continue the series next week. David Lesch

This morning on "Open", I completed my two part series on "Boating Laws". Boating in New York may sem like just fun and games but New York State takes it very seriously! Remember, anyone involved in a boating accident is required to stop qnd give assistance as long as it will not personally endanger the operator or passengers. David Lesch

Great show tonight as we tackled "Bullying in School" and the laws protecting both child and parent. Thank you to Nelson Mar, Esq., from Legal Services NYC for giving great advice, and of course to Elsie Rivera who bravely spoke of her ordeal as a parent of a child bullied in school. It's important to shed light on the issue because bullying affects everyone.

April is Autism Awareness Month, and in the spirit of spreading this awareness, tonight on BronxLegal we discussed the rights of people with disabilities in their place of employment. Thank you to both our guests for appearing: Jesse Mojica, the President of the Bronx Chapter of The Autism Society of America, and Richard Kass, Esq., of the law firm Bond, Schoeneck and King.
